In eyes running like rivers
he searches for his reflection,
and pulls out an image of himself,
bound to a stone,
forced to carry the weight
for as long as the planets spin.

He has no regrets
despite her bright red blood,
fresh on his hands
and pouring from her broken nose.

“Break up: to separate or be separated into pieces”
Example:
She could tell they would break up,
by the powerless, confused look in his eyes.

The sun set on their potential,
while his exploded,
with the passion of freedom
and a completed education in self.
