Neptune

Neptune
Birth

Swirling storming torrents

they rage through my mind

leaving in their wake

the decaying, water logged bodies

of burned out stars.

But two little eyes

shine so bright

it brings a tear to mine.

The child's hand

is just the right size

to hold my universe.

He was baptized in the sunrise,

and I held his mother’s hand;

Speechless.

The sunrise from here,

so far from the sun,

is the brightest I’ve ever seen.

Together

we know its beauty.
